3/7/11, Univeral & Islands of Adventure

Had a very lazy morning by the pool. David spent most of the time trying to perfect his dive. Alison spent some time cleaning melted marshmallows off the barbecue. Actually managed to open a book and do some reading.

Batteries re-charged we headed out at about 3pm and made our way back to Universal Studios to complete our journey in Woody Woodpecker's KidsZone.

David loved the coaster ride

We headed across City Walk to Islands of Adventure. Being around 6pm the place was much quieter and the queue for Spiderman was only 25 mins. After joining this queue and waiting for around 20 mins the ride developed a technical fault. Had to abandon ship......GRR!!!!!!

By this point I was determined. Not to be undone I found the courage to take on the HULK. The wait time was only 10 mins. I usually build my self up for this mighty beast, but hey, no time like the present, especially with only 10 mins to think about not doing it. I joined the single rider line and walked on without breaking stride....what am I doing?????  Do I want to accelerate from zero to 40 mph in two seconds flat, with the force equal to that of a jet taking off an aircraft carrier?  The world turns upside down as you experience a weightless "zero g" roll. Then you feel a surge in power as you pick up speed and a menacing roar fills your ears. All you can do is hang on as you experience the rage, power and fury of the Hulk (front seat view).

Where next dad?

It was great. So good that I wanted to go and do it again. Home now picked up some KFC and as I write this at 10:15pm fireworks are booming all around me. Must be the 4th of July tomorrow.
